Thank you for your interest in our buildable drum models!

Below you can find directions on how to build our 1/4 scale snare stand model.

Be sure to reference the pictures in this section for the names of the various parts.

Step 1:

To start the assembly of this snare stand, we will begin connecting each of the 3 stand feet (part F) to each leg (part L).

The feet will slide right onto the ends.

Step 2:

Next, grab part MLR and attach all 3 legs to this part. The legs will slide on from the top, and should fit snuggly against MLR.

Step 3:

For now, set the previous parts aside and locate parts SS and LR. LR looks similar to BR, but is thicker than BR and has “DS” printed on the bottom of it.

Connect SS to the top of LR.

Step 4:

Next we want to set all 3 part LB’s into part LR.

Notice that on one end there are 2 small protrusions and on the other end there is one larger protrusion. Take the side with one large protrusion, with the protrusion facing up, and place it into the square hole in part LR.

This will require some effort as it has to be a tight fit for the stability of the stand. There should be about 1mm of space between the protrusion on part LB and the surface of part LR. You should more or less feel a click when it seats properly.

Step 5:

Now take the connected parts from step 4 and add them to part MLR and the connected legs.

SS will connect underneath MLR and each part LB with connect to each leg. There will be a square hole in the middle of the leg for part LB to seat into.

There will be a roughly half mm space between the protrusions on part LB and the surface of each leg. You will more or less feel a click when each part LB seats into each leg.

Note: this part is a little tricky. The legs will likely flex upward slightly while positioning the lower parts into the upper parts. Everything should feel firm when completed and should look like the first picture in this section.

Step 6:

The next 3 steps are simple, but please read this whole section before attaching anything!

Take part SA And attach it to the top of part MLR. I like to make sure the square protrusion is set between 2 of the snare stand legs, instead of aligned with them.

Note: SA, SB, and SC all look similar, but need to be placed in the proper order.

SA – is the thicker piece that has a square protrusion on the side.

SB – is as thick as SA but has no square protrusion.

SC – is thinner than the other 2, and also has a square protrusion.

Note 2: The tolerances of these parts are tight. This is necessary for the rigidity of the stand. It may be difficult to unseat and reseat once the parts are connected, so take a couple extra seconds to make sure they are being placed correctly the first time!

Step 7:

Now place SB on top of SA.

Step 8:

Now place SC on top of SB.

I like to align the square protrusion between the same 2 legs as as part SA.

Note: The square protrusions are to resemble wing nuts and are purely aesthetic. Their orientation does not matter, but they are intended to be aligned like the photo here.

Step 9:

Now set the stand you’ve assembled so far aside and lets assemble the snare stand basket separately.

Take part J and place part B on top of it and part LB underneath it.

Align the hole on part B with the holes on part LB.

Step 10:

Next, locate the 3 part BA and part R’s. Place all 3 part R’s onto the part BA’s as shown in the photos here!

Step 11:

Now take all 3 of the part BA’s (basket arms) and place them into both part B and BL as shown in the photos here.

The upper part of the arms will make contact with part B first, and then after its set, you can seat the lower part into part BL.

This part can be tricky but it should all feel secure when everything is connected. There are protrusions on the arms that should have roughly a half mm gap when seated correctly, similar to the arms on the lower part of the stand.

Step 12:

Finally, take the basket assembly that you’ve built and place it onto the lower half of the snare stand!

Note: It is recommended that the basket sticks out towards the snare stand leg, opposite of the square protrusions on parts SA and SC. This will give the stand more stability against the weight of the snare drum.

Thank you!

Your 1/4 scale snare stand build is now complete!
